Children's Programs

Godly Play is Trinity’s Sunday morning program for children who are in pre-school through 6th grade. It is a multi-age, multi-sensory program which deepens our children’s understanding of God and faith.

Godly Play teaches the art of using Christian language – Parable, Sacred Story, silence, and liturgical action – helping them become more fully aware of the mystery of God's presence in their lives. Participation in Godly Play helps prepare children for joining in the worship and life of the congregation as they develop that deeper understanding of stories, symbols, and rites. The lessons are stories from the Bible and more, told in a quiet, thoughtful way with simple materials and figurines.

Godly Play begins at 10:00 a.m. every Sunday morning, except for the last Sunday of the month when we have our fun “Music Sunday” at 10:00 a.m. Our classes go about an hour, and then our children can join their family for the 2nd half of our Church service.

Godly Play runs from September through June. Though we start in Sept., children are welcome to join any time throughout the year. During our Summer months, we have added an additional children’s program during our 10:00 a.m. service.

Our children love Godly Play!

A.Y. A. (short for As You Are) We have our Teen Sunday School Program that meets every other Sunday of the month, at 10:00 a.m. Our program runs about an hour and after the lesson, the teens go into church for the 2nd half of the service. This class is for Middle School and early High School teens.

We are using a curriculum called “Attitude” by Living the Good News. It is a Christian curriculum which consists of 3 books with 32 lessons each. The lessons were written with the help and insight of teens, with topics they have an interest in. Each lesson deals with real life situations that teens face, and they teach positive strategies to help teens deal with everyday life.

A.Y.A. teens also help in the church community by helping with church dinners, coffee hour refreshments, and even the annual Easter Egg hunt for our Godly Play children!

This year, our teens had a blast filling the Easter eggs with goodies, and hiding the eggs, a task they seemed to enjoy!

Our programs are all run by volunteers, so additional help is always welcome!

In Godly Play, you could be a classroom assistant (we call doorkeepers), or help with some of the fun activities we have, such as crafts, presentations, and our annual Christmas Pageant. For A.Y.A. we are always looking for helpers to assist with events and outside activities.
